Human Beings. Simple Story.

Very interesting story....

In an ancient temple, a number of pigeons lived in the top of the gopuram (picture below shows a gopuram),  as they normally prefer elevated or high structures.

It so happened that the temple management decided to renovate the temple and do Kumbabhishekam.

When the work began, the pigeons had no choice but to relocate.

They found a Church nearby and decided to settle there. As there were already some pigeons staying in the Church, the newcomers, managed to squeeeze in wherever they could.

It so happend that Christmas was approaching and the Church management decided to get
the church painted.
The new pigeons alongwith the earlier ones now had to move out and look for another place to stay.

They were all fortunate to find place in a
nearby Mosque.

In some time the Mosque too, due to Ramzan had to undergo repairs.

By this time,
work at the temple and the function was over, and all the pigeons came back to the temple.

One day, when the pigeons were sitting on the top and relaxing, they were saw some communal clashes happening on below and not far from the temple.

A baby pigeon asked its mother "Who are these people? "

The mother replied that 'They are "Human beings".

The baby asked
"But why are they fighting with each other?"

The mother said
"These human beings going to temple are called 'Hindus'
and the people going to Church are called 'Christians'
and the people going to a Mosque are called 'Muslims'.

The Baby pigeon asked

" Why is it so?
Look, when we were in the Temple we were called Pigeons
when we were in the Church we were called Pigeons
and when we were in the Mosque, we were called Pigeons.

Similarly they should be called just 'Human beings' wherever they go".

Look at the wonderful reply the Mother gave;

"You and me and our Pigeon friends have understood and
thats why we are living here in a highly elevated place peacefully, these people are yet to understand that and hence they are living  below us and fighting and killing each other".

Give this a thought as you celebrate Diwali, Eid or Christmas or any other festival.

Lightning and the Bus. A story about Luck

The Bus and lightning..

A bus full of passengers was on its journey. Ssuddenly the weather changed and there was a huge downpour and lightning all around.

The passengers saw that lightning appeared to come towards their bus but then it moved

ahead without hitting the bus.

After two or three such instances, the driver stopped the bus about fifty feet away from a tree and said -

"We have somebody in the bus whose death is a certainty today.
Because of that person everybody else will also get killed.
I want each person to go one-by-one and touch the tree trunk and come back. Whosoever’s death is certain will get caught by the lightning and will die.
But everybody else will be saved".

They had to force the first person to go and touch the tree and come back.

He reluctantly got down from the bus and went and touched the tree.

His heart leaped with joy when nothing happened and he was still alive.

This continued for the other passengers who were all relieved when they touched the tree and nothing happened.

When the last passenger's turn came, everybody looked at him with accusing eyes.

This passenger was also very afraid and reluctant.

Everybody forced him to get down and go and touch the tree.

With the fear of death, the last passenger walked to the tree and touched it.

There was a huge sound of thunder and the lightning came down and hit the bus - yes the lightning hit the bus, and killed each and every passenger inside the bus.

It was because of the presence of this last passenger that thus far, the entire bus was safe and lightning could not strike !

Sometimes we try to take credit for our achievements, but this could also be because of a person right next to us.

Look around you -
Probably someone is there around you, in the form of Parents, Spouse, Children, Siblings, Friends, etc, who are saving you from harm!

Think About it..
