The Master.......Your Self Nature. Osho

Man is living in a nightmare, and the only way out is to bring the master in...

Mind is a negative force; it cannot use anything creatively, it needs a master.
Mind is a servant. So to me the question is...Do you have a master?

Meditation brings the master in. It makes you fully aware and conscious that the mind is your instrument.
Now, whatever you want to do with it you can do. And if you don’t want to do anything with it, you can put it aside and you can remain in absolute silence.
Right now you are not the master - even for five minutes. You cannot say to the mind, “Please, for five minutes, just for five minutes be silent.” Those will be the five minutes when the mind will be faster, rushing more than ever - because it will have to show you who is the master....
Your thoughts have to understand one thing: that you are not interested in them. The moment you have made this point you have attained a tremendous victory.

Just watch. Don’t say anything to the thoughts.
Don’t judge. Don’t condemn.
Don’t tell them to move.
Let them do whatsoever they are doing, any gymnastics, let them do; you simply watch, enjoy.
It is just a beautiful film. And you will be surprised: just watching, a moment comes when thoughts are not there, there is nothing to watch.
This is the door I have been calling nothingness, emptiness. From this door enters your real being, the master. And that master is absolutely positive; in its hands everything turns into gold.
If Albert Einstein had been a meditator, the same mind would have produced atomic energy not to destroy Hiroshima and Nagasaki but to help the whole of humanity to raise its standard of living.

Without meditation the mind is negative, it is bound to be in the service of death.
With meditation the master is there, and the master is absolute positiveness. In its hands the same mind, the same energy, becomes creative, constructive, life affirmative.

So you cannot do anything directly with the mind. You will have to take a little roundabout way; first you have to bring the master in. The master is missing, and for centuries the servant has been thinking he is the master.

Just let the master come in, and the servant immediately understands. Just the presence of the master and the servant falls at the feet of the master and waits for any order, for anything the master wants to be done - he is ready.

The mind is a tremendously powerful instrument. No computer is as powerful as man’s mind - cannot be, because it is made by man’s mind. Nothing can be, because they are all made by man’s mind.

A single man’s mind has such immense capacity: in a small skull, such a small brain can contain all the information contained in all the libraries of the earth, and that information is not a small amount....
But the result of this immense gift to man has not been beneficial - because the master is absent and the servant is running the show.

The result is wars, violence, murders, rape. Man is living in a nightmare, and the only way out is to bring the master in. It is there, you just have to get hold of it. And watchfulness is the key: just watch the mind. The moment there are no thoughts, immediately you will be able to see yourself - not as mind, but as something beyond, something transcendental to mind.
Once you are attuned to the transcendental then the mind is in your hands. It can be immensely creative. It can make this very earth paradise. There is no need for any paradise to be searched for above in the clouds, just as there is no need to search for any hell - because hell we have created already. We are living in it.

People still go on thinking that hell is somewhere down underneath the earth - and you are living in it, this is the beauty - and heaven is somewhere above.

You can change this hell into heaven if your mind can be under the guidance of the master, of your self nature. And it is a simple process....

Eyes on the Shore

A story is told about a Lion chasing a stag.

A fox crossed the path, so the Lion chased the fox.
After a while a rabbit crossed the path, so the Lion chased it.
Later, a mouse crossed the path and the Lion chased the mouse into a hole.
The Lion began his hunt on the trail of a magnificent stag and ended up watching a mouse hole!

Not that there is anything wrong with spontaneity. But there is also something to be said for knowing where we want to go.

Florence Chadwick (an American swimmer who was the first woman to swim the English Channel in both directions), learned the importance of keeping a goal in mind on July 4, 1952.
She waded into the Pacific Ocean off Catalina Island and began swimming toward the California coast 26 miles away.  The day was cold and her attendants drove off sharks throughout the journey.

Florence had already swum the English Channel twice and, if she could finish today, she would be the first woman to have swum both.  But after fifteen hours in the water, for the first and only time in her long-distance swimming career, she gave up and climbed into the escort boat.  Others had urged her on, but in the fog they could not tell her how near she was to the coast.  She later learned that she was less than half a mile from shore.

When asked by a reporter why she gave up, Florence replied:  "It was the fog.  If I could have seen land, I could have finished.  But when you can't see your goal, you lose all sense of progress and you begin to give up."

On a warm, sunny day two months later Florence Chadwick swam the Catalina Channel, handily beating the men's record.  Only when she kept her eyes on the shore did she eventually arrive there.

Keeping that goal constantly in sight will get you where you want to go.

Swami Vivekananda on LOVE

Swami Vivekananda

I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me.

Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with some water and held it before me, and said this:
"You see this water carefully contained on my hand?
It symbolizes Love".

This was how I saw it: "As long as you keep your hand 'caringly' open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will
spill through the first crack it finds.

This is the greatest mistake that people make when they meet love ...

they try to posses it,
they demand,
they expect ... and just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retrieve from you.

For love is meant to be free,  you can not change its nature.

If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.

Give and don't expect.
Advise, but don't order.
Ask, but never demand.

It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice.

It is the secret to true love. To truly practice it, you must sincerely have no expectations from those who you love, and yet be unconditionally caring."

How God answers your prayers

I wonder if this is a true story....  Quite probable as God works in mysterious ways!

 Amazing Story

Dr.Ahmed, A Well-Known Doctor, Was Once On His Way To An important Medical Conference in Another City Where-in He Was Going To Be Granted An Award For Medical Research He Had Recently Done.

He Was Very Excited To Attend The Conference And Was Desperate To Reach As Soon As Possible .
He Had Worked Long And Hard On His Research And Felt His Efforts Deserved The Award He Was About To Obtain.
However,Two Hours After The Plane Took Off,The Pilot Announced That There Was A Problem With The Plane And That They Were Going To Make An Emergency Landing At The Nearest Airport.
Afraid That He Wouldn't Make it in Time For The Conference, Dr.Ahmed immediately Went To The Help Desk As Soon As The Plane Landed And Explained To The Woman At The Desk That He Was Expected To Be At A Very important Conference And That He Needed To Know The immediate Next Flight To His Destination.

She Told Him That There Was Nothing She Could Do To Help Him As There Wouldn't Be Another Flight To His Destination For Another Ten Hours; But Suggested He Rent A Car And Drive Down To The City As it Was Only Four Hours Away.

Having No Other Choice,He Agreed To The idea Despite His Hatred For Driving Long Distances.
Dr.Ahmed Rented A Car And Started His Journey.
However,Soon After He Left,The Weather Suddenly Changed And A Heavy Storm Began.
The Pouring Rain Made it Very Difficult For Him To See And He Missed A Turn He Was Supposed To Take.
After Two Hours Of Driving,
He Was Convinced He Was Lost.
Driving in The Heavy Rain On A Deserted Road,
Feeling Hungry And Tired,
He Frantically Began To Look For Any Sign Of Civilization.
After Some Time,He Finally Came Across A Small Tattered House.

Desperate, He Got Out Of The Car And Knocked On The Door.

An Old Woman Opened The Door For Him.

He Explained His Situation And Asked if He Could Use Her Telephone.
She Told Him That She Didn't Have A Phone Or Electricity But That He Was Welcome To Come in For Some Food And Something Warm To Drink As He Had Completely Lost His Way And That it Would Take Him Some Time To Get Back On The Right Road.
Hungry,Wet And Exhausted,The Doctor Accepted Her Kind Offer And Walked in.
The Woman Told Him To Help Himself To Some Food And Hot Tea On The Table And Then Excused Herself To Finish Her Prayers.

Sitting On The Table Sipping His Tea,The Doctor Watched The Woman in The Dim Light Of The Candles As She Prayed Next To What Appeared To Be A Small Baby Crib.

Every Time She Finished A Prayer,She Would Start Another One.

Feeling That The Woman Might Be in Need Of Help,

The Doctor Seized The Opportunity To Speak As Soon As She Finished Her Prayers And Told Her That He Hoped God Would Answer Her Prayers.

He Then Said That He Noticed That She Had Been Making A Lot Of Prayers And Asked if There Was Something She Needed That He Could Get For Her Or Help Her With.

The Woman Smiled And Said That God Had Answered All Her Prayers Except For One.

She Said She Didn't Know Why God Hadn't Answered This Specific Prayer Yet But Perhaps it Was Because Of Her Weak Faith.

The Doctor Asked if She Didn't Mind Telling Him What She Needed.

Nodding Her Head in Approval, She Said That The Child in The Crib Was Her Grandson And That Both His Parents Had Recently Died in A Car Accident.

She Said That The Child Had A Very Rare Type Of Cancer And That All The Doctors She Had Seen Were Unable To Treat Him.
She Also Said That She Had Been Told That There Was A Doctor Who Specialized in The Type Of Cancer Her Grandson Had,But There Was No Way For Her To Get To This Doctor As He Lived Very Far From Her;
So She Has Been Spending Her Days And Nights Praying To God To Help Her Find A Way To Get To Dr.Ahmed—

The Doctor Who Could Treat Her Grandson.

Upon Hearing Her Words,

Tears Began To Flow Down The Doctor's Cheeks And He Said :
 `God is Great,
There Was A Malfunction in The Plane,
A Thunderstorm Hit,
And I Lost My Way;
And All Of This Happened Because God Did Not Just Answer Your Prayer By Helping You Find A Way To Get To Dr.Ahmed,
But He Brought Dr.Ahmed To Your House.
I Am Dr.Ahmed.'

With Tears Streaming Down Her Cheeks,The Woman Raised Her Hands Prayed
